"Marie

----verse one
I like the look you make before you laugh
I like the look that's on your face
I like the messy room with the lightbulb no one bothered to replace
(Alt. I like the broken light in the bathroom no one bothered to replace)
And I like staying up till I fall asleep from staying up too late
And I like to pull at strings a bit too hard till they break and separate
Into the two parts
Of my broken
String.

----verse two
The best of luck
I wish you the best of luck
Is what I said the day
You shot me in the back as I tried to walk away
And you said
Don't leave me
I can't stand to be alone
But I'm fading quickly now
And I'm hanging up the phone
One last time

----refrain opening
And I am not running from anything
I am not running from you
I will look you in the eyes and say just what I'm talking to

----refrain
You are a vile creature
Fully unencumbered by the grossness that consumes you
And devours you from within
You've got big problems
The kind I don't want to deal with
Right now"

I hope you guys like these vocal-heavy, simple-chord solo pieces, because I've been working majorly to improve my lyrical skills.

I might use that waltz as the main theme to Pipesmoke, a radio show I'm thinking about writing featuring a cowboy-gone-detective named Ames and a tape recorder from the future named Newcomen as they solve mysteries in Victorian England. Also, if you have any ideas for such a show, I'd like to hear them.

Just a heads up, if you go with that plot I'm probably gonna yell at you at some point during the story because I have this thing with time-travel... There are just so many potential plot-holes and weird stuff when time-travel is involved.

On the other hand, Victorian England can be a fun setting so I definitely look forward to it.

I'd just like to mention that I've made arrangements of the Tetris A theme and the theme from Howl's Moving Castle on accordion (I have legit accordion skillz now), but I haven't recorded them yet. I will as soon as I've replaced my microphone.

Yo, that's really cool. I like what you did with it, man. Less of a remix and more of an addition to the song.

The new audio setup I ordered is arriving soon, so I figured I'd post a list of the new equipment I got.

Focusrite 2i2 Audio Interface
Wasn't exactly sure what exactly I needed out of an audio interface, but this one looked good. The preamps are apparently pretty great, and it got great reviews. It's actually arrived and I can confirm that it's really nice, and pretty affordable if you're getting into studio work. It also has 2 inputs, hence the name (2 input 2 output). I anticipate wanting to record more than one part at once in the future, so this just seemed like a logical choice.

MXL 770 mic
It's a fairly high-end cardoid mic, came with a nice shock mount, and recordings of it I've heard sounded great. It was on sale for $70, and sounds nicer than my previous ~$100 mic, so that's nice. Can't say much about it, because I haven't recorded anything with it. Will post demos of the setup once it comes in the mail. You can find these things on Amazon for fairly good prices if you have any interest in starting a home studio.

Here's what music sounds like recorded with it. This is just a quick thing, not perfect, got more mixing to do and whatnot, but it's good for now.

I've recorded a few more things that I'll probably keep working on.

The Aeroplane thing is the same as before except with a different clarinet solo. It's at like, a minute in or something if you don't care enough to listen to the whole thing again.

The "Aeroplane improv" is really nice, the clarinet is good, except the theremin sound can be sooooo out of tune that it's gonna drive me crazy. I NOTICE THESE THINGS, MAN.
