Uncompleted Games?
« on: June 08, 2008, 06:42:20 AM »
There's a few games on the Future Releases page that haven't had a progress update in ages. What ever happened to Aerena, Beyond the Limit and Gnome Quest? Are they still in production?

I was working on Gnome Quest, but decided that it was a bit obsolete. THen one day I accidentally deleted it. I've been trying to start work on it again, but it's been  exam, after exam, after exam. And right now I just want work on some of my own code before diving into gridcode. Once I finish my defense code and my new site, then I'll begin work on it again. I hope you understand.

p.s. Ghost can you change the release date on Gnome Quest to December?
This Cannot be, NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Well progress on Labyrinth is still coming along I should have it done soon. Once I work out half the glitches I should come up with a release date.

Time machine would have been helpful there.

I must be dreaming (wake up me wake up) How could this have happened. Tireas' cry when he found his computer fallen over in his chair with it's screen shattered.

Yeah, Cast Off is still secretly in development, so don't worry about that. And beyond the limit has been replaced with that puzzle game I'm working on.

I doubt we'll be seeing any new development on Nel's Journey for a long time yet. It was discussed awhile back in another topic:

I think Swamp thinks of Nel's Journey the same way I do about Wizards & Lizards. I want Wiz & Liz to be a really good game, not limited in design due to me not being smart enough to figure out the logic of some of the fabulous features I wanna add. (which is why I haven't continued it) I think Nel's Journey will be a grand finale game, long after the Adgames logo earns a great deal of respect from the GM community via the other awesome games it gets branded on.

Or he's abandoned it. ;D
While I'll agree that it's often a good idea to put a game on hold and work on something else when you find development hard, it's also a sad fact obtained from observation that if an uncompleted GM game is left dormant for too long, it never gets finished. That's why I really want to get back to work on MF in the near future.

I can't update 'Future Releases' myself without you guys notifying me what has changed, so if you have a game listed there, be sure to notify my about progress updates.

I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I submitted a game review the other day. Do I need to email it?

I honestly believe that MF will get finished, but can't even guess when. I actually began the process of rebuilding it from scratch a few weeks back, but because everything about the engine the interface has been done already it's hard to work on it. I'm glad you still think it's cool though even after all this time, and I think I agree with you to an extent about it being better than QoM in certain aspects; I prefer overworld exploration to dungeon exploration.
