Grand Prize
« on: April 13, 2008, 04:35:25 PM »
I'm working on the post about QoM on the front page, and also on the header. I'm swamped with work this week, so I probably won't be able to get it up until the end of this week. Sorry!

Congrads for winning again silver (You should really look in to other programming languages, you would be awesome)

Thanks Mist. :) Yeah, I'll probably look into more languages this year. They'll have to have simple syntax though! ;D Are there any you'd recommend for a beginner?

I would start with something like visual basic (if you own a PC). If not, try TNT basic.

I REALLY like flash and PHP but they can be a it expensive and PHP is useless without a web server.

I have not experimentred much with desktop programming languages but BASIC seems to be your best bet (Very similar to GM's syntax).

You could try to learn future basic (Because it is free now, no?) because it creates standalone applications.

TNT pasic is simple as well but it creates a messy setup with the game application and a data file being seperate.

NYWays, if you find someting good, let me know

Go buy BlitzMax or which ever one works on mac. I plan to. Or at least download metal basic or TNT.

Metal Basic has been abandoned as far as I can tell. No updates or news on it for several years and the website is gone.

TNT Basic went to opensource and hasn't really been touched since. There was someone working on an update, but he stopped because of other projects. He says he'll get back to TNT but you never really know. Right now there's no work being done on it and it has some problems on OS X.

I like the vb.net environment. In the future, everything made in vb.net will be portable to all platforms.

Besides that, Xcode is pretty good if you can understand all the NsCommands.

Haha what?

Are the spam bots getting smart enough to get past my anti-spam measures whilst learning the basics of natural language processing?
