Black Plague Story
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:29:20 PM »
Hey guys, here is a black plague story I just wrote, what do you guys think?

The Great Depression

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... In the land of Smiles, it was the year 1346 when a new disease emerged. It unmercifully swept across the continent, hitting the un-expecting and slapping the expecting. None was untouched, many ran away, others tried to hide under shower curtains covered in garlic...  Nothing seemed to stop it. Town after City after spa resort fell, a cure seemed unimaginable. A few even decided to travel across seas to find the cure among the mysterious forests of the land across the seas. They never returned. Though this story isn't about them, they just were eaten alive by butterflies with large tongues. This story is, in fact, about King Wal-Mart man's kingdom, a rich land flowing with milk and honey, surrounded by the great wall of low prices.

Rumors were heard of this most divesting disease, in which King Wal-Mart wasn't  in the least daunted. His pride was legendary, though he had sharp wit. He could lower a price 2 fold with an extra employe discount in a matter of seconds. Enemies fell to their knees before him and no one has yet challenged his authority.  The wall was strong, and his people happy. Nothing could defeat him. Or so he thought.

The day the disease hit caught King Wal-Mart off guard. He was basking in his royal spa resort when a messenger burst in with a torn and ripped document stating that the Hawaiian Villa near the east wall was swallowed up in agony. It came so unexpectedly, none survived. King Wal-Mart shrieked with horror and despair, for that was his favorite vacation spot...  He quickly got up and assembled his most witty and successful men in a hope that he could cure this outbreak.

Many smilies with this great plague were taken into the royal lab to be studied, the devastating effect it had on these poor smilies frightened the scientists. The infected smilies' skin tone was grey, their smiles were turned upside down to form a permanent frown. Their attitude was extremely depressed and sometimes violent. King Wal-Mart's days were long and nights sleepless. He was given no mercy, he would not let his kingdom fall. Though ever so slowly, his kingdom was losing hope as each day a new town was infected. Smilies were wandering around in a zombie-like state. All grey and all frowns, no hope for them now. In the Hawaiian Villa, none were singing Hawaiian tunes or doing dances in sea weed dresses.

As it turns out, everything that had happened to the smilies was only stage one. The scientists had discovered 3 stages. First stage was being depressed. The second stage was to spread the disease in any way shape or form possible. Frowny smilies would have an extreme urge to infect other smilies. They would walk great distances and climb over anything in their path to get to uninfected. 2/3 of the kingdom was infected and they were all coming to one place. A place which held the last third, the great castle in which King Wal-Mart lived.

The infected had started climbing the castle walls and some inside the castle had just started coming down with the infection. There was no hope, and for the first time in his happy life, King Wal-Mart was scared. He didn't think he could lower Wal-Mart prices any longer. He was the last smily to get infected, and he went out with a fight.

Than the third stage happened, the black death. The Frowny smilies had actually started to smile, though not because they were happy. They would search for the best items to destroy themselves. Some would grab plastic spifes(Sp oon+Knife) to cut their wrists with, others would have ball room dances on nails. There were many morbid though curiously interesting ways they found to kill themselves. King Wal-Mart climbed the greatest tower in his kingdom and jumped off in the midst of all the shouts and laughs of excitement. Even a few decided to travel across seas to be eaten by butterflies with large tongues among the mysterious forests of the land across the seas. Eventually, King Wal-Mart's land was no more and Wal-Mart went out of business due to high prices...
