Happy Holidays (and I live)!
« on: December 24, 2015, 06:11:21 AM »
Happy Holidays, everyone!

I don't know if any of you remember me, or if any of you were even around when I was.
I'm Tradley. The one who created the GameMaker game "Movod Ruins".
Yes, I'm still alive. And I still intend to revive my ideas sometime.

You can download the game here:

Or here if the above page no longer works:

Note that this game will probably not work on newer machines (unless you have an emulator).

If any of you do remember me, or are just curious, feel free to talk to me, ask me questions, or give suggestions.

'Till then, have a nice holiday and a happy new year!

Howdy! I thought for sure this site was dead, haha. But people still drop in when they feel like it. It's a shame I can't run any of those old PPC-Mac games anymore...

Have you done any game dev and/or programming since then?

I've been practicing some programming in Python.

And I'm also learning more about animation.

Yeah I still stop in every once in a while. Looks likes it's been a bit of a while though.

Indeed it has.
I have ideas for a classic arcade game as my first official game (outside of Movod Ruins   ;) ).

Great to hear you've still got a heart for game design TJ! Moved Ruins is a fantastic game. I particularly enjoyed the music :)

I really don't see it as a fantastic game at all. So many things could be improved, including the music, which I mostly just made up as I went along with Garageband.

There is always room for improvement, because as people we are always growing and improving our creative abilities, but I think that's one of the things I've always liked most about our small indie games; they leave behind an impression of the creator. Like an interactive photograph. Players get to explore someone else's ideas and even glimpse reality through their eyes. It's kinda like being in someone else's daydream.

It's a strange joy, and I'm not very good at expressing it, but it's a very real and incomparable feeling that I've got from the games of our community over the years. Especially when playing a game for the first time.

believe me, this game was pretty fantastic in the day, and that was a very primitive time. i wouldnt worry about the file size, its just not a big deal these days, and i dont think theres any way around it, in my game 'enforcers rpg' which i made with silvercreator 2.0 by mike richardson, it cant handle mp3 format without glitching the sound into static, i had to import all the sounds as raw audio that greatly increased the file size to over 100mb but thats still nothing compared to download times these days. i actualy never released the newer version with fixed audio but i will soon
