I did the piecewise linear and quadratic functions in SC, and the polynomial in HTML5 GM.  The SC stuff was indeed painful, due to the global variables... which is one of the reasons why I migrated to HTML5 GM.

I learned some lessons while making these videos.  If you guys ever make tutorial videos, heed my advice:

• Spare yourself some grief: don't use Keynote '09 for narrated slideshows.  The video export feature is badly broken.
• Use flat colors or photos as backgrounds.  Gradients are hard to compress correctly.
• iMovie is a pretty good editor, but sometimes you should use an alternative encoder such as Handbrake.
• Informative videos can take a LONG time to make.  Be careful when committing to a series.
