I'll never tell!

I used it in the most recent actual song I uploaded.

Plateau+Decay Sharp+Really low notes = a pretty accurate bass guitar noise, actually.

My horrible cover of Creepy Doll by Jonathan Coulton:

(the vocals were done in one take, so I screwed up a bit, but whatever. I'm also not a terribly good singer. XD)

If you aren't too judgmental, I'll attempt another JoCo song later, because they're fun.

Yeah, I'm not overly satisfied with the one-take vocals... I think I'll redo them tomorrow. Plus I screwed up the refrain by literally singing the lines twice, as opposed to using an echo. I think I'll also try singing it standing up. I was sitting down when I recorded because of my recording setup, but it really affects my voice. Plus I'm not overly familiar with the song...

Excuses excuses.... I'm just not that great of a singer XD

Well, anyway, to practice harmonizing with myself, I wrote this little tune. I left a bit in there with just guitar for a solo or something. I was trying to keep it under a minute.

EDIT: I updated this link to go to a newer version with better vocal volume control. The original had a vocal track that got consistently quieter.

Tell me what you think :D

I'm thinking about doing an indie-rock sort of album thingy this summer, but I need opinions on my voice before I decide whether to find a different vocalist.

It's also important to note the semi-official title: Song About An Ego

I added clarinet to the bridge/solo bit and to the end bit with all the parts. I'm pretty proud of this, actually, as it seems to be a full, albeit short song with lyrics and relatively well done vocals. Or I'm completely wrong and just love the sound of my own voice? Where is everyone?

This is cool Zoo, it's a proper song. I like the lyrics, interesting and mildly humorous. In fact, the style kinda reminds me of the older Lemon Demon stuff. (That's a good thing. Really good.) The clarinet fits well.

I think the best advice I can give now is to not stop working on this stuff just because you posted some online and felt good about it... Keep going!

Also try not to sing in a key that's too low for your voice (I don't know for sure if you were but it kinda sounds that way).

muuuch faster than light
I sorta cross the sky xD

EDIT: Your real name is Wilson? :L

Yeah, my name is Wilson. My voice really is that low, I'm just not particularly good at singing. I can go a bit higher.
