TF2
« on: January 19, 2012, 07:04:03 PM »
I just realized it's free to play on steam. Downloaded, and I'm a newb, but I really enjoy it. So, anyone else play TF2? If the answer was no, then why not?

Sure, but I'm a n00b. What's your favorite class? I don't have any weapons found for anyone but demoman, and I'm thinking of turning them into scrap, because I suck with demoman. I love being a spy. so fun to backstab people.

I'm good at Engineer, or Scout, but I try different classes when I feel like it. :P
I also like playing as Demoman with the sword and shield and special boots equipped, it's hilarious. But no ranged weapon slot left. it's like a new class, which is the whole point.
And I want to get better at Spy, it's cool to be a good spy. I've managed to run around like I'm a soldier guarding a capture point and gotten medics to heal me but it's hard to actually get behind them and stab them then.
AND I enjoy playing Engineer and hitting spies with my wrench.

The key to being a good spy (In my opinion) is this strategy:
  • Do not go anywhere near who you are disguised as
  • Use invisibility watch, disguise kit, and butterfly knife at the same time using this method: disguise, stab, invisible, hide, repeat until killed
  • Have your teammates shoot at you
  • Don't disguise yourself as heavy. It will make you slow. But being scout doesn't change your speed, which I imagine is a dead giveaway ( the worlds slowest scout)
aside from engineer, it's the most complicated class, which is why I like it.

If you're making it, it's always a good idea.

I've never played it, too busy and too poor.

I got TF2 when I bought the Orange Box.  I played it a few times, but couldn't really get into it.  It's just too fast and frantic for me.  You don't hear people saying "I need backup", because it's a given that you're going to die in 10 seconds, and it doesn't matter because you'll just respawn.  I never felt like anything I did ever mattered.

There's no such thing as "Too poor" for a free to play game.

Bleh, takes time to play a game. Time costs money. Spending time = spending money. I'm too poor for free games.

Yeah, and I still play it on OS X using EDuke32.  I haven't played multiplayer yet though.  I need to figure out how to do that, because it sounds like fun.  8)
