Has anyone checked this out?
http://gamesalad.com/
As the site says, it's billed as "designed for designers" meaning that its goal is to have your time spent more on the front end design and less on back end programming/scripting. One hitch is that it's Snow Leopard only, the main reason I personally haven't had a go at it yet. If anyone else is able, though, I'd be interested to hear some hands-on feedback.

Downloading now. Looks cool. It's a 50/50 kindof a thing. Either it works, or it's like "Playcrafter" (If you don't know what that is, it's a stupid flash game maker that keeps turning out awful games on Kongregate)

It's cool. But it's "No Code" which is surprisingly confusing.
