I can understand the problem though, as things like this have never worked for me.

IF variable = > 5 THEN commands

I can't imagine why. Even if I copy/paste codes like this, they never seem to work.

They might not work because the variables might not co-enside with your code, or maybe because you can only have one equivalent symbol, unless you want to make an in equal statement.
