No. They have to be compiled in Xcode.

Some REALbasic apps got on the store and they are not made in Xcode. Since a compiled game is basically a REALbasic app, you should be able to submit it.

but it only has 1000 apps while the iphone store has like 200k, it seems like youd have a better chance of getting noticed on the mac app store. this seems like  a great opportunity for gm and sc users, does anyone plan on releaseing anything on it? silver should submit qom as is and see what happens

i cant check out the app store sinse i dont have 10.6, what are the prices like? are they still in the 1-5$ range?

How much does it cost to submit an app? Do you need a developer's license?

Yeah. $99 dev license. And I think you need to do something fancy with Xcode and QOM.

Nah, they're putting corporate games on. I just saw Bioshock for $40.

I think that to submit a game to Steam it needs to be able to connect to Valve's services via a set of dlls. That would exclude GM and SC games.

Actually doesn't Steam stick to more professional games? Like, ones that people want to sell?

SilverCreator games should be acceptable into the Mac App Store in theory. You will need to process them somehow using Xcode. I still haven't upgraded my Mac Pro to 10.6.6 so I don't know.

They have to be packaged somehow. Eventually I will upgrade to 10.6.6 and download Xcode to figure this out.

At the bare minimum you would need to install the entire Xcode package in order to be able to package your game for the store. Almost certainly you'll need an Intel Mac, and most likely you'll need 10.6.6 or later as well.

Sometimes I forget I'm using a Mac Pro, it's a big ass tower just like the G5 but everything runs even faster (and the G5 was damn fast anyway).
