I remember finding out about Unity around seven years ago.  The concept of a "3D game maker" seemed dubious to me then but I guess it's considered one of the leading 3D engines at this point.

It's pretty intense, I'm still amazed at how much you get for free.
What programming language does it use for game scripting again?

It uses Javascript or C#.
