I don't know what market this thing is targeting. Is it supposed to be a new "e-reader" to compete with the kindle? Is it supposed to be a tablet laptop that runs osX? Is it supposed to be a big iPhone? I guess we'll have to see :P

lol! That would be so funny. "Ladies and gentlemen, if you thought the iPhone was the coolest device around, get a load of this: A bigger iPhone! Several times bigger! Plus it's also a waffle iron."

That would be some awesome. Surf the web while cooking waffles...

I'm so excited, if they release a new OS for the iPhone then I'll need to update my app probably to support new features such as multiple apps running. Besides that if the tablet runs apps well, I think I'll update the iPhone RPG to run well on the tablet as well. That'd give us a large head start in the inevitable flow of apps coming to the tablet.

You can get a data plan through AT&T, so apparently it is, in fact, a giant iPhone.

That video REALLY pisses me off. "When something exceeds your ability to understand how it works, it becomes magical. And that's what the iPad is"

It's like a giant iPhone...  But without the phone.
Yeah, I was hoping for a camera, multi apps, and maybe something new that the rumor haven't stated.
Besides a larger version of the iPhone, I bet it'll be an amazing gaming device!!! This may be great for the app store, bringing gaming to a whole new level, as well as education. I was surprised, it's so cheap! I'm going to download the new iPhone OS, test the iPad simulator with the rpg, and watch the iPad video conference thing.

P.S. ARGH! Can't get iPhone SDK 3.2 yet. Need a developer license or I gotta wait a while.
P.S.S. This is a pretty awesome looking device...

The iPad is a POS waste of time and money. I can see this as Apple's attempt to create a bridge between the iPod craze slowing down and a very low cost iMac.

It's going straight on the shelf next to the G4 Cube.

How is it a waste of money? I'm not particularly impressed by it myself as it's basically just a computer without a keyboard, and I like keyboards, but it's still a pretty nifty gadget. I like the idea of keeping a digital library at my study desk, and I certainly like the thought of developing games for such a conveniently portable and storable device.

I wasn't really all that impressed by it. Its like all they did was get a iphone and put it in an enlarge machine. (I was hoping for an actual computer on the slate not just a oversized iphone)
I must be dreaming (wake up me wake up) How could this have happened. Tireas' cry when he found his computer fallen over in his chair with it's screen shattered.

That was a good one :P but seriously, I don't think I like the idea of computer technology coming after books... doesn't seem right. Apple seem to be more interested in looking good than looking where they're going. I think the iPad demonstrates that perfectly. The question now is if the iPad really is the thing that comes after the iPod and iPhone, what will happen next? They can't take it anywhere else. Most consumers are still very weary about buying tablet computers.

Still, I'm looking forward to all the tampon related jokes. Roll on the good times!
