Sorry for double posting :P

I am in a bit of an irritating position...
The battle engine that I once wrote is so hard for me to decypher that I am thinking of writing it all over again.

Because of that I need some ideas for what I should do to make the battle engine more powerful and stratigic as well as suggestions on how to get leveling up to work.

Make the guy be able to more, and make it flow better, the animation is pretty jerky.

arrow keys move you around the world map and in battle you use the mouse to draw a line from you to the enemy

I think that a older final fantasy style battle system would work well... were you have a bar that refills to show when your attack is ready.
