Team Fortress II (Again)
« on: June 25, 2012, 02:09:21 PM »
There's a Big Ol' Update coming to accompany the release of the Meet The Pyro video! They made one for every other class so they're making a big deal out of this.

The countdown screen is pretty bitchin'.

Being a fan of the game I want to see this video because the rest were hilarious. But I wonder how the new gamemode is different from Payload. (%99 chance they got the idea from that Hightower map. That was fun.)

TF2 is borken on my computer. Did they fix that, too?

They're always updating, it's possible...
Unless it NEVER worked on your computer. Then it might be your computer.

I'd have to re-download it. It worked for about 3 hours. Not worth the 5 hours I put into getting it. First person shooters are kind of overrated anyway. Not that it's not fun, but I don't like it as much as I would an RPG, or anything else. The best kind of games are the kind that make you think, the industry-changers and the awe-inspire-ers. I'm just not seeing that in TF2. The best kind of games are the ones that even the crazy CoD fans will hear of and respect, for what it is. There's got to be a time when people realize that companies are pumping out the same game over and over again. Better graphics! More guns! But the heart of the game is the same. Who can honestly tell a screenshot of Black Ops from a screenshot of MW2. Certainly not me.

I'd like to see more games that are different, rather than a simple clone. TF2 is fun, but there are better uses of my time than that.

Sorry for ranting there. I reread it and I sound like a total jerk. TF2's fun. But LoL is more fun. And LoL actually works without having to redownload it every 5 seconds.

1. TF2 isn't trying to be a game-changer or innovate new concepts, it's just trying to be a fun game and I think it's great. It has a unique style and an element of hilarity to it that sets it apart.
2. CoD/MW fans don't like it because it's different enough from other games that it's hard for them to pick up and play. If you're good at one FPS you can usually do well in another. In TF2 no class plays like a typical all-around balanced type, and each one has a weakness. Since it's only multiplayer you have to jump into a server and pretty much anyone who is new to TF2 gets their ass kicked.
