My first real Gamemaker game; Terrorists
« on: August 26, 2008, 04:18:54 PM »
Hello fellow citizens of the GMG, I reside in the sleepy little town of Silvernetworks. I just thought I'd hop on my bike and visit the other towns local to me.

My goodness, I've not seen the GM community this active since the early 2000's..

Anyhow, I'd just thought I'd try and get as much publicity about my new game as I could. I don't know if this is exactly an 'announcement', but there's no other board marked for released games...:)

This is a game I started for the GMG contest, but I started it way too late and it didn't get finished. It's not really even an arcade game, more of a point and click adventure sort of thing with action sequences that simulate arcadey house of the dead style gameplay. I tried to use sprites but I just could not for the life of me figure them out :(

So, err, here's the link: http://www.savefile.com/files/1753861

It's about Terrorists, basically you're an agent and you're just minding your own business when suddenly you get a phone call, and you have to take out a load of terrorists in a school and disarm bombs blah blah...

Anyway, err, have fun with it :)

DIE DIE DIE (panting) DIE DIE DIE  ok I think I got him, oh wait he got up again.
Well short is a word to describe the game. But a great game in the works it seems. To make it better you could make it so that the white shirt freak appears in random locations rather then the same ones every time.
I must be dreaming (wake up me wake up) How could this have happened. Tireas' cry when he found his computer fallen over in his chair with it's screen shattered.

Wait, so does that mean that each terrorist position is a different card?

Once again, great demo.

Yeah. I used to be very good at GM scripting back in the day - the day before GM supported sprites, that is. If I could have worked out sprites, I would have made it into a side scrolling game rather than point and click. It's a bummer, but hey, so far it works :P Thank you for the positive feedback :)

Haha, that is hilarious! 3 thumbs up.

Also, was that a picture of you? And if you want, I can teach you to script sprites.

The enemies and the main character are me, Kat is going to be replaced by my friend Hannah instead in the final build.

That would be nice of you to teach me sprite scripting, but I think I'll pass, I'm sort of too far in the game to make fundamental changes :) I may use them for Terrorists II though... oops :-X
