I LIVE!

Let's see. What have I been up to? More creative endeavours, more scriptwriting, less school, and work ad-infinateum. Making money though, that's going to help with tuition and rent next school year.

Good to see everyone's still active. I lurk here quite often - should actually sign in more and post, just to touch face every now and again.

I'm in a summer school class to get New Mexico History out of the way, and now I'm in Drivers' Ed too so I have less time. However I am going to have a new computer soon so when that happens I want to try out Minecraft in multiplayer mode and I may or may not wind up making some videos out of that, we'll see. (I don't really feel like recording the stuff I do in singleplayer, singleplayer videos of Minecraft just aren't nearly as good).
And I can't forget about Light Maze of course, I was just dealing with some bugs and haven't gotten as much done as much with it as I said I would. :/ I may take the other site's advice because it's true what they say. Deleting code is a 100% effective way to get rid of bugs. Of course new ones will come up when it is replaced. ;D

Never delete large amounts of code during development. Start from scratch if you must, but keep a backup of the project's current state in case you need to go back to it. I've made that mistake countless times.

Yeah I know, I was just gonna redo some small pieces. Plus I always save a copy each day when I start coding.  :)

I LIVE!

Do you know Sinistar? That was an awesome arcade game. He had several simple sayings.

I live.
Beware. I am near.
I hunger.
Run coward!
I am Sinistar.

But my all time favorite arcade game was Tempest. I was one of the best around at it.

I feel kind of bad about ignoring this site :P

I've been up to:

Teaching 2nd - 4th graders how to make games in SilverCreator (this is actually going pretty well, some of them are already finishing their adventure game projects! I'm going to put them all online when they're finished)

Redesigning my website. I've changed my name from Last Boss to Arcade of the Absurd (the article I wrote gave the the idea). Here it is so far: http://arcadeoftheabsurd.com/Arcade_of_the_Absurd/Home.html

Learning MySQL database management for a project I'm working on with a friend.

Working on Nightmare Mode stuff. Doing a collaborative review of Wanderlust: Rebirth at the moment.

Working on my mobile game framework. Write once in Java, compile for Android and iOS! Ended up splitting this off from my Android game framework (what's powering the Helicopter game), I had written it using Android-specific tech. I'm going to open source and abandon all that and focus on the cross-platform engine.

I'm putting the voxel engine off for now, it's the kind of project that needs total dedication and I just don't have the time or motivation to spend the summer studying math ;)

Wow all that sounds impressive.

I've learned a bit of MySQL as well, setting up a server, making tables, retrieving and setting as well as inserting data.

About the framework for iOS and android, how did you get it to work? iOS binaries have some built in encryption that can tell if it's been tampered with or if custom data has been inserted.

Hey, if you need any help with MySQL, feel free to PM me.  I've taken a few classes in it, and I've gotten pretty good at writing queries/designing databases.
