Ah I remember one censoring, but I don't think it was quite a censoring. Gnome did something funny and got stripped of his powers. Actually, he did something similar to what you did in the Religion vs Science thread.
Except, his made people laugh.

I'm retorting. Eq did not spend 30 minutes proofreading, and that is quite obvious. The post violated the Trash Talk Rules, so you should read the rules. This is a game making community, not a place to start religious flamewars.

Like I said- I stand by my decision to censor that thread. I'm letting you equate me to Hitler, but I'm also entitled to respond to the criticism.

I don't remember who it was specifically, but someone voiced that they were hurt by one member's comments. Rude? CHECK

The post was titled Science vs Religion, which by itself is inflammatory and not tasteful. Not tasteful? CHECK

I'm standing by my decision because I think it wasn't appropriate for these forums. I wouldn't restore it if I could.

If we're not allowed to talk about religion then state that clearly in the rules. What is and isn't "tasteful" is way too subjective.

You're allowed to talk about religion, but you're not allowed to make comments like:

There is no scientific basis for religion, but the intended audience of my comment isn't smart enough to understand that.

It's just kind of awkward and annoying when you show up and suddenly start moderating after being inactive for a while. If you spent more time on the forums then you would have recognized Gan's sarcasm... I mean we have these religious discussions periodically, they're kind of fun and no one really gets hurt.

I never actually got a chance to read anyones responses because Tim censored it while I was sleeping (crafty of you Tim! :P). But that comment was definitely not directed at you Gan. I remember having (or just reading? it was a long time ago) a lengthy discussion with you in which you actually provided some well thought out arguments - definitely not preprogrammed responses.

I agree that a title change would have sufficed. I strongly disagreed with the title of the thread, but the content was fine.

Also Gan your new look reminds me of Ignus from Planescape:torment - http://www.gamebanshee.com/planescapetorment/companions/ignus.php
