Avoiding Youtube
« on: February 23, 2012, 09:47:21 PM »
So, I thought I should really try to avoid just surfing random Youtube videos. I mean, it was pointless and I got nothing out of them and yet you can stay up for hours that way. And why not go the whole nine yards? I'm going to try and go a whole six weeks or so with no Youtube, no random searches and no stupid comments... Of course if I gotta get on for a good reason or my friend shows me a video I won't sweat it I'm just trying to break the habit of always going there when I get bored.
Got the idea when I remembered Lent started this Wednesday and the idea is to give up something you don't need for 40 days.

Day 1: So, last afternoon and all day today I haven't gone on Youtube once. It wasn't really that hard... I think it will help because it's the kind of thing where an "I'll get on for 5-minutes" turns into 15 or thirty minutes.

AMAZING! This dog jumps out of a plane with a parachute, and they film him all the way down! Also, the narration is hilarious!

It wouldn't be a challenge without temptation.

Also, is this for lent? I gave up the computer on Tuesdays, so I wont be on on Tuesdays for a while.

I think I'll actually be able to sleep better this way, it puts the thing in perspective a bit. I've managed to cut down on internet in general. But when I'm still bored there's so much to find elsewhere. I'm just gonna head over to Laugh a Day now...
