It's been discontinued? Does that mean we can play the free version without worrying?

I think it still costs. Unless they make it open source. Then it's free I believe.

I believe they are going to stop adding things to the game, but will continue selling it through steam or wherever.

Recap of today:

Zoo, Kurt, Circuit and I destroyed Skelletron. In the Skelletron Stadium. Worked beautifully. Then we explored the temple.
But we still couldn't destroy the temple walls and got stuck. Research showed we needed a special Nightmare Pick Axe. Made of wormy scales.
Eventually Connors got on and Zoo and Kurt left.

We then went down into the corrupted lands, destroyed glowing orbs and summoned the Destroyer of Worlds(big wormy). It took a lot of maneuvering and gun fire but we killed it. And got the scales.
Circuit made all of us Nightmare Pick Axes and we went deep into the temple. We mined, put platforms up and lit the place.
We got far, died quite a few times though.
Eventually we got deep, sectioned off an area and just started digging through the wall to explore the outside of the temple.

I went off to get wood and silk to make a bed to put in the temple. That's when Connors and Circuit had to leave.

Possible Future Missions:
(1) Explore the rest of the temple that we sectioned off.
(2) Explore the caves we dug through the wall of the temple.
(3) Figure out how to destroy the demon alters.
(4) Dig to the center of the Earth from the GMG Palace.
(5) Extend the sky bridge over the desert to the GMG Palace for fast and safe travel.
(6) Explore the unexplored regions to the left of the GMG Palace and the right of the Skelletron Stadium.

What would you want to do?

I'll be on sometime later.  I'd like to finish exploring the temple (not the caves, just the part we sectioned off) and start digging to the center of the earth.  Also, I made a "suspicious looking eye" so that we can summon the Eye of Cthulhu.

Recap of today:

Whole bunch of people got online. Had fun. Circuit and I extended the Sky Bridge all the way to the GMG Palace. So there is now a safe and fast route over the land.
Then Circuit and I destroyed a giant Eye that he summoned.
Then we decided to dig to the center of the Earth.

Right now I am 2713 feet below surface and still digging. Circuit had to call it a night. We reached lava and we're draining a ton of it.
I'm still working.

I forget anything that happened?

Edit:
We also had fun draining water into the lava. It creates a valuable stone called Obsidian.

Edit 2:
Whoa! I'm at the 3000 feet underground mark! I can see lava veins through the rocks. Way cool.
Oh yeah, and a creature called a Fire Imp started attacking me. A creature that can shoot fire bolts through walls. Very annoying.

I've repaired the whole tunnel and lit it. It's 3000 feet of greatness. You can fall straight on through, just grapple yourself at the very end.

I've discovered the underworld. It's crazy. It could be a new mission: Explore the Underworld.

For those who don't know, this tunnel to the center of Terraria is right underneath the GMG Palace. It has a sign next to it. Make sure you have a grapple hook when you go down though.

Ah man, so excited. I'll leave the server running all night but I'll have to turn my computer off tomorrow morning to save battery life.
I sure wish my new power cord would get here.

You can break a fall of any speed with two blocks deep of water. Just thought you ought to know, you know, since you actually built a hellevator.
In other new, my Connors character and his goggles will still be visiting the server often because that was cool. But I also want to go in a singleplayer world with a new character and try to get all the stuff myself. Without borrowing or cheating items. I might even put it on... Hard difficulty. Where you drop your items on death. You know, if I'm feeling foolhardy at the time. You have to play real carefully and organise your extra stuff in teh chests.
Also thank you again for the grappling hook it is the most fun item ever except perhaps for the wings.

Ah yeah, sad. I already posted about that.

Anywho, Circuit came online and me and him explored Hades.

Then he left and I explored Hades. I went from building to building, collection cool items. Though I got no where. Just cool items. Couldn't find the origin.

Ah, I went left. Going right might produce different results.

Also, maybe you guys think we should keep digging down and see what's under hades?

I did some researching.
There's an invisible boundary past Hades. Hades is empty except for monsters and items.

You guys wanna fight the wall of flesh?

I have a G3 ibook running Ubuntu and I figure I can make it run Terraria server.

There are two terraria server mod engines that work on Ubuntu.
TDSM- I here it's highly advanced and fast but may be dead.
TShock- I know little about it but some say it is the preferred mod server.

From both, I hear you can run on linux and use them to add mods into the game.
They both support Terraria 1.1.
What do you guys think?
