Title: Lua
Post by: WarHampster on December 04, 2008, 04:17:38 PM
I'm thinking about using the scripting language Lua in one of my projects. Can anyone give me a review on its usefulness/ ease of use?

I haven't really used LUA before but I think that someone make an app to make games with it.

From what I can understand it is pretty erasy to use, however, the language which I have read the most songs about is Python :P

Its very slow and im not sure you can compile it... I think its an interpreted language. Not sure tho. Check out the game programming project "LÓVE" it uses it i think.

This (http://www.biggerplanet.com/playkode) looks useful and I think it uses LUA.

I believe there are several game engines that use Lua, though most are for Windows. You might also wanna look into Ruby.
