Title: Multi-Platform Language?
Post by: Gan on August 01, 2008, 12:16:04 AM
Hey, I'm looking for a multi-platform language, I've seen ptk, but I'm looking for something with more of a C++ structure.

Any ideas?

If you're looking for C++, try C++.

I'm looking a little more towards free programming software.

I think there is a version of realBASIC which compiles for both mac and windows, however it is pretty expensive and not really worth it given the limitations of realBASIC.  I think you would be best off learning something like C++.  I don't know any compilers, sorry.   ;)

You know you aren't really helping them sell.

Yeah, I've read a lot about it and tried to install it, but I can't figure out where I put the files.

Yeah seems like documentation is pretty poor-- I'll look into it and see if I can figure it out.

Yeah, I like flash, except for the cost. I usually don't buy anything about 6 cents.

Adobe Flex is very similar to flash (in fact, in makes flash applications, just using a different interface), and it's free for students.
