Title: Early Adventures in Blender
Post by: Connors on March 29, 2012, 10:23:00 PM
I forgot how much fun this program is! This face is based of a video tutorial along with some tricks I remembered from Lightwave, such as extruding individual faces to create spaces between the teeth.
Might add color later.

Nice,
Did you use sculpt tools?

No, mostly moving vertices by hand and extruding. cool right?
He does need a body though, and color. I've been wondering if I can have it draw an outline to go with toon shading? I did this is Lightwave. It traces the outer edge from your viewpoint.

Well, if he's gonna be that smooth, you might as well use some sculpt tools. It's like the only thing I know how to do in this new blender, and I couldn't imagine ever making some of the things I've made without it.

Sculpting can be nice, but extruding allows real control.

Use the grease pencil if you want to draw.

What does the grease pencil even do? or is it only for taking notes?

Greece pencil? Is that a regular old Greek pencil from today, or one coming from ancient Greece? Man, that thing's gotta be worth thousands! I thought the Mayans invented the pencil! We aught to get some archiologists on that right away!

I'm not entirely sure what the grease pencil can do, but I do know it's nice for drawing outlines of objects.

I'm pretty sure the grease pencil is just for drawing on the screen and making notes... It does nothing.

It's nice for artists. Helps get proportions down instead of shooting in the dark.
