I can feel it.
So what are you guys working on? Some top super secret confidential your-eyes-only project? You know, you could just post some vague hints here.
-
Um.. ok! I got it.
The.... uhhh ..... um.... turkey... is... um in the .... Kitchen?
Sorry. That's as good a hint as you'll get out of me.

I learned flash. If I can just learn to draw like my friend, Ramul will be on the road!
-
why not get your friend to help you with the art?
I want flash, but I can't afford it. Seriously, 700 bucks?!?!?! They are crazy.
-
Flash is so much fun. I was able to make some pretty awesome stuff in it. Then the trial ended. I cried.
-
I know. I'm too afraid to download the trial. I want it, but then it would run out. Anyone know how to hack to get the trial back?
-
I can find the serial number in 2 min. But that's a no-no.
-
totally, I don't want to make adobe mad. I hear they can push a button and make you blow up. I think i'll just buy an old version off ebay.
Anyone ever buy an old computer just for the software on it?
-
I noticed (too late) that the trial only counts the days that you used it at least once. So that helps, you can just pick days that you have more time.
BUT I currently would still Photoshop/Image Ready because that's what we used in Digital Media class (AKA computer animation).
You guys might know about my RPG but also I want to finish my music video. It's a Weird Al song, about a video game. I bet no one here can guess the name of the song. XD

Yes... paying for it...

I haven't worked on anything game related in ages, there's just a phenomenal amount of awesomeness going on in the church these days. I'd love to wrap up Elathondréoth sometime, but my schedule is too busy at the mo.

I may or may not be working on a Java game that I may or may not finish.

I'm working on a few SC games. I've got a puzzle game that's about 80% done; just need to do the final cutscene and maybe put in a level editor. A card game and an arcadey maze game are also on the docket.
GM-wise, I started work on a Harry Potter-themed RPG and got pretty far on spriting, but I think I'll port it over to SC. Either way, it's my last priority and won't be finished for a while. As an aside, I don't know what the legality of fan-RPGs is, but since I don't plan on making any money I won't worry about Warner Bros coming and suing my butt off. :D
I'm also working on a spiffy new website which is more a test of my web-design skills than a way to get my games out there. It's still at http://charlo.gamemakersgarage.com/ if you want to follow my progress. I've got a nifty database backend working on my local machine, but until Tim sets up a database for me on the GMG server there won't be much content.

If you're a student you can get CS5 for $249. Still pretty high but a lot better than $700.
I would just look for an old copy of maybe CS2 or CS3 on eBay if you want to stay legal.

@Chalo: Cool menus, how do you make them? Or would I even understand you? I don't even know much basic HTML. XD
@Everyone: My RPG engine now officially works with any number of rooms connected by walking off the side of the screen. (How exciting!)\\

It's just HTML with CSS effects to control hiding/showing the menu. I'll go a little deeper but don't feel bad if you don't understand fully. :)
Each menu item is a <li> tag (for a list item) within the "menu" <ul> tag (unordered list). The items that have a submenu have another <ul> within the list item. I used the CSS :hover pseudoclass to say that when the user hovers over a navigation item, a hover effect should be applied and any list within that item should be set to display. The submenu's "display" attribute is initially set to "hidden", so when the user hovers over the menu item it gets changed to "visible". It took a little tweaking to get the right results, but it's a lot better than using an ugly flash-generated navigation menu.
-
Cool, I can follow what you're saying OK. But I'd have no clue how to make it myself. XD
And ugly flash-generated menu is kind of a blanket statement, it depends on who made it. 8)

The same happened to me like 5 years ago :)

Woah. A SC puzzle game, With a level editor. That would be pretty much the coolest.
-
I've been mulling over how I could make a level editor for a game, I think the tricky part would be having the program write and read files you saved without glitches.
-
Yeah, I once made a level editor thingy in GM and the files messed up the sprites.
