So, I've finished applying to universities, completed my portfolios and exams, and I've found a bunch of spare time that I'll be dividing between playing games, making games, writing comics, and hanging out with friends/girlfriend.
As such, no, I haven't forgotten, but I really, really, want to get a solid chunk of - you guessed it - Nel's Journey - done. To keep myself motivated, I'll post regular updates and samples of my work. And, if I stop posting, please e-smack me around a bit and get me back on this project.

Good luck! :) Also, what kinda nav are you using? I'm wrapping up a pretty nifty and flexible nav engine for the Roguesoft RPGE, so if you're going grid based I can show you how to use mine in a video tutorial if you like.

I guess I wasn't around when this was originally announced... what exactly is Nel's Journey? Feel free to use the RPG's tiles in it if they fit the style.

It's an ambitious (dare I say overly so) Action RPG with a world map, a quest system, and an event system that modifies others around the game world. I got a ways into it before I just didn't have the time, but I released a demo which I've still got hanging around my old mac HD somewhere.
But might as well make a progress/to-do list!

I didn't map the collision classes in the room used for the preview, but it works. Room sizes are independently customisable from 1 to 25 nodes long and wide.

That's functional, and really cool. It would save a lot of time in designing my own nav. I love it, reminds me a bit of Avernum (great game, recommended, p.s, http://www.avernum.com/avernum6/index.html)
EDIT: I'll look for it on the weekend, seeing as I'm busy tomorrow, and it involves hauling out the old computer and plugging that in. But If I can find it, sure thing. :)

Yeah, next to Kevin Kinell and Jeff Mather, Jeff Vogel is one of my favourite indie game developers. I've only ever played his demos, but they're quite awesome.
