They're gonna have to do something about the numerous bugs.

A can of RAID, maybe?

Bugs are surprisingly absent in the windows version. I haven't run into anything game breaking as of now.

Can't say the same for the mac version. Try shooting an arrow, game crashes.

I'll probably host a server soon if you guys are interested.

I am. Once the bugs get ironed out.

My main problem with it is the waiting. Healing takes forever, flying from planet to planet takes forever.

@Zoo: Bandages! Craft bandages and you'll be fine.

I'm doing pretty well now they've fixed the hunting bow for Mac users. The update did fix the bow glitch, by the way. I found a really cool abandoned Apex base right near where I beamed down to the surface and it's got lots of space for my stuff (I'm assuming they didn't leave in too much of a hurry because there weren't many useful items stored in it).

Here's some things I learned for newbies:
1. Get plant fibers from vines or something, build a yarn spinner and make cloth, and craft the cloth into bandages (I think you make bandages at the crafting table?).
2. Uncheck "have matierials" or whatever it's called to see all available blueprints at any station (crafting table, furnace, yarn spinner) and you'll probably find out how to make the more useful items.
3. Armor penetration can be extremely powerful so don't hesitate to try some of the weapons you can make once you've smelted some metal.
4. Making a little farm with the seeds you're given at the start will probably provide more than enough food, especially if you replant all seeds. Bread seems pretty filling.
5. You don't seem to get item drops besides pixels unless you kill aliens with the bow. Don't ask me why this is, it's just the rules.
5. The spear does a ton of damage but only attacks by jabbing horizontally kinda like the stupid shortswords in Terraria.

Oh, I found an awesome trident in an abandoned base of some sort, as well as a bunch of evil robots. I know about bandages. Also, the respawn animations get annoying really fast. And, since you have a spaceship at your disposal, it seems to me like you should be able to beam down wherever you want on the planet. Not to mention the fact that you can return to your ship from anywhere. Also, I'm not sure how to see any of the other planets close to me, so I can basically just go back and forth between two worlds, which gets old as soon as you've walked all the way around them a few times.

To go to another planet, put coal or unrefined wood into your fuel tank, go to your navigation chair, click the planet you want to go to and hit Go.

Right click on the nav to zoom out and see more planets. Right click again to see the whole galaxy.

So, I didn't fully appreciate just how much of an early Beta this really is. They're completely reworking the combat system just so they can test out a different one! I bet we're going to have a pretty long wait until the official release and the Novakids.

Does that mean we gotta redo everything?

We could cheat in some ores or something if it gets annoying. :P
