Title: Made my own animation
Post by: Gan on June 19, 2014, 10:34:44 PM
Inspired by Zoo's animation, I made my own. Took much longer than I'd like to admit...
Without further ado:

That thing is, admittedly, a little bit spooky, as well as obviously un-flight-worthy. But it has a certain undeniable charm. Color it up, fix any minor imperfections it has, and give it a photographic background, and prepare to rule over the internet with an iron fist.

What is the line coming out of it's ass every 10 seconds?

Perhaps it's related to the smile he gets when it appears...

It takes a long time to draw even a simple picture... gah.

You're drawing with a computer mouse, aren't you? My advice: Don't use your mouse. Buy a tablet. Scan drawings you made on paper. Take photos. Draw on the screen with a dry-erase marker and trace it if you have to but don't draw with the mouse!

I agree, but tablets are expensive, and scanners are tedious. But you're 100% right.

But but but.... computers and layers are suppose to make it easier to animate.

That's why you use a tablet.

Guess I'll just stick with my mouse then.

Unless you get really into it. Then a Bamboo tablet might be a good investment. The cheap ones are like $80.

Yup I paid 75 bucks at the Apple Store.

This one's model name looks like Cthulhu. No? Yes? Definitely Cthulhu.

But you can't see where the stylus end is at. How do you draw precisely?

I spent my fun money. :C On the plus side I got 16 gigs of ram coming on Thursday.

You can see the mouse on the computer. I mean, they make drawing tablets with screens on them for professionals, but those are... Expensive, to say the least. Like $1000 expensive.

I tried drawing on my dad's iPad and I hated it. It's not precise enough because you can't use a proper stylus pen. We even have a pen but the tip is round like an eraser. Plus I think the glass is thick enough to make it feel less accurate. I think the professional tablets with screens are expensive for a reason.

Oh definitely. And they're a higher resolution than the iPad.

Bigger screen iPads are expected to come out. And a new SDK for varying touch sizes. Might make things better in the future. Itty bitty thin stylus and a big drawing screen.

Still, a drawing tablet will be more ideal, what with it connecting to a computer and whatnot. I think they usually don't do a lot independent processing.

I think that's part of it, those tablet monitors are actually computers themselves.
