Thanks for posting an incredibly outdated and currently unsupported BASIC language.
Also I think this was posted before somewhere, because I remember people using it a couple years back.

I used it for at least 1,5 year, probably more.
I consider it very good for learning 2D (with sprites and double-buffering) game programming basics.
It think it includes a built-in pixel-based collision detection engine.

Also, I used METAL to create my only ever contribution to the world of GameMaker, KeyDetect (first keyboard interface for GM)

Metal is pretty cool. But massively outdated. Id go with TNT. Back in the day METAL was the shiz.
Also, I didnt realize the link was down. Seems to work for me.
You should perhaps think about hosting metal :) In case his site goes down entirely.

The Web Archive will quite probably stay up, but it's kinda slow
