I have no clue how much work it would be, but YaBB 1 Gold SP 1.4 is old.
A newer forum (yabb or otherwise) would be awesome :D
Though not required I suppose.
Mist.

I agree.
Wouldn't mind something a little more "modern"
[EDIT] Note that since they tried to update the GM forums, they never came back up

I think this board software is fine, it's very simple and easy to use. Although it is ancient.

A newer version would be great. On the iPhone when I'm writing a post, I switch cell towers then press submit it loses it. Very irritating.

I think the choice of forum software was deliberate, as to mimic the Plaza and GM Forums.
The Plaza has transitioned to YaBB 2 though - and the GM Forums will be back some day, also in YaBB 2.
The only reason YaBB was used for the original Plaza forums was because that's what was installed on my web hosting plan.

Mike, have you found any converter for the data, or some sort of upgrade tool? It looks like YaBB 2 uses a new data format, and what stopped me from upgrading was my lack of knowledge on how to get the posts transferred over.

There is a converter, I believe the official YaBB people wrote it. I used it to convert the Plaza.

Found information about it. Will try when I get a spare moment.

Awesome, thanks Tim.

I, personally, prefer this yaBB. Simple, and not as flashy (thats the big thing)
