Examples of game music
« on: November 24, 2009, 11:31:19 AM »
I'm composing a few melodies for my new RPG and I'm in search of inspiration, so I was just wondering if the composers among us could post a few samples of their work. I think Hampster's a composer, but I've never heard any of his stuff (as far as I recall).

I'll post a few of my own stuff tonight.

Those are really good. :) Did you release any games with music?

Here's one I'm working on for my new game: http://www.mediafire.com/?zjmhmdwzzoy

I'm trying for gentler melodies than my usual stuff. More atmospheric and whatnot.

I use GarageBand, but unfortunately I lost all the Apple Loops when my HD crashed so I'm composing note by note for each instrument. GB is really easy to use though, you should give it a try Gan. :)

It was so funny, I download SW's music and I started playing and when it was in three of four seconds an advertisement turned on in the back window a safari. I was beginning to think that SW had composed a commercial. But AFTER I turned off the add I listed to it and it sounds pretty good.
I must be dreaming (wake up me wake up) How could this have happened. Tireas' cry when he found his computer fallen over in his chair with it's screen shattered.

Do you have any of the loop packs or something? Sound like you have the orchestra pack?

A. I don't use loops except occasionally for drums
B. They're called jam packs and they include loops and software instruments
C. Yes i have all of the jam packs.

I know they're jam packs, and you don't use loops. I was guessing because I couldn't remember. Anyways I'm hoping I can get symphony orchestra some day. I only have the remix jam pack.

Sorry for the late reply.

Generally, my music would have no place in a traditional RPG... but here's something I've been working on that has a "old school game" vibe: http://www.mediafire.com/?nmwd3othj35

Sorry for the huge file. The distortion in the song may be a bit heavy for some, but I think it's cool ;)

This is some pretty neat stuff SW. I think it would work well in a game.
