Are you using something past IE 7?  IE 8 and 9 are actually reasonably close to being standards-compliant browsers.

And I do feel compelled to point out that IE and Windows are separate entities.

I think it was either 8 or 9. I was on one of my college's computers. They're upgraded to the latest everything. They are beasts. 8GB ram, core i7 processors, double monitors...
