Beta 2 of Delivery Boy: Into the City is out.
This features slightly more reactive steering, and a better UI.
You will also now start in a different place in the city.
Other minor changes have also been made, however they are not really all that important.
You can download Delivery Boy: Into the City Beta 2 from http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bb8e97931b7327ae41446e35a78dc463e04e75f6e8ebb871

UPDATE: Beta 1 of I'm Back: Into the City, my game I have made to say Hi to the GMG community, is ready.
You can download the .swf file from http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bb8e97931b7327ae41446e35a78dc463e04e75f6e8ebb871
Please play, let me know what you think, and I will release more updates into the future.

Ok, so now that I am back I need to make a game to prove it. Can someone give me suggestions on what kind of game to make? It would be appreciated ::)

Flash right?

umm....

I once had this idea for a SimCity but post-apocalyptic, so you like Build buildings out of rubble (resources) and raise a rag-tag militia to stop invaders and get stuff. (think fallout)

But that would take a lot of effort

but for an arcade game...
try an old Swamp idea of DJ hero kinda, but someone made that http://armorgames.com/play/103/cooliodj

I might try (Note the word "Try") to make a simcity post-apoclipse game.

Thanks for the ideas Gnome.

RPG! *distant manic laughter on the breeze* As for what the collision class legend is, I'm guessing s = Solid and 0 = Empty, but as for 1-9 I'm completely in the dark (water? Doors? Teleporters?).

Now then, I'll give you ++S if you can find Waldo in the following image:

EDIT:

25x23? That's a fine size grid! :D

damn, ditto.

and its not an rpg :(, it would be like heck to make that an rpg...
let me give you a hint, "s" is a road.

Beta 1 of I'm Back: Into the City has been released.
Download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bb8e97931b7327ae41446e35a78dc463e04e75f6e8ebb871
Thank you, please play and tell me what you think.
I am thinking of adding a level editor later on.
the grid is 25x23squares with "park" land on all sides.
I will give a legend of what the numbers and letters mean closer to the release of the editor.

Anyways, thanks for playing!

Wow, that's a very nice game Mist! I did about 50 houses on the second run before stopping. Is there an end?

nope, it tells you you're best time in the upper right hand corner, its your job to just try to get the best time and post it on the score board.
Do you think it should have an end? I am thinking of having a story mode where there are mebbe 5 houses per level and once you get them all, another storymode comes up, but I dunno yet.

Anyways, thats not really gonna be done today :P,
Mist

EDIT: for those who care, I am counting only about 350 lines of code for that game, not including one 3rd party library I am using for collisions.

Nice. :) The collision engine broke when I resized the window a little smaller. I forgot to mention that.

Odd, it seems to break every once and a while, but there is nothing I can really do about it...
I am using someone else's collision engine to do the crashes.
Oh well, oh, and also, the name of the game has been changed, to make a future storyline easier to create, it is now called "Delivery Boy: Into the City".
I will release a updated version of the game with a better menu soon, then I plan to add more features (such as custom maps).

I would host it on redrasor.com, but there are some weird things going on with redrasor.com at the moment. so I am just going to put it on mediafire.
Actually, if ghost could message me the information for my site here, I could put it up here while I sort out redrasor.com
That would be nice.
