Hang Man source and game

I found a glitch in GM while making it. The "Do on mousedown" option for buttons doesn't apply in compiled games. Also, once when I compiled the game with that option enabled, it required OS9 to play. ???

Anyways, there's both a player vs player mode and a player vs computer mode. The computer has over 130 movie names for you to decipher, so there's hours of fun to be had with the game!

Hang Man has been updated to version 1.0.1. The computer now has 200 movie names for you to decipher! :D You can download it from the usual place: http://www.roguesoft.co.uk/

Also, that thing happened again where I required OS9 to play the compiled game. There seems to be a 50% chance of it occurring whenever I compile the source, but oddly enough it only happens with this game.

When this happens do a Get Info on the app and see if it says it's a Classic Application. If it's not a Classic app then make sure the "Open in Classic Environment" isn't checked. If you have Rezilla or ResEdit open the app in one of those and see if there's a plst resource. If the plst resource isn't there then it will only open in Classic (OS9). Let me know what you find.

OK. The problem with compiled games trying to open in Classic just happened to me. That's the first time it happened to me. The simple solution was to do a Get Info on the game app and deselect Run in Classic. Easy. I'm not sure why that gets selected though.

Whoops! I meant to do this the other night when I read your post, but I forgot. Sorry about that. I've just opened it now in Rezilla and the plst values are both set to 0. I can't find the Run in Classic checkbox when I get info on the file, but after compiling it a few times it runs in OSX.

Are newer OSes different? I still have OS X 10.3.9. In the Finder when I select Get Info this window opens. See the checkmark?

Well Past 10.3.9 OS X has no classic compatibility so that checkbox wouldn't be there. Also if you have an intel Mac it probably won't be there either.
