Safari: 40%
FireFox: 90+%

Open Activity Monitor and look at the processes. Safari Web Content. Chrome Web Renderer. Firefox.

Windows 98
Chrome - %85-%97 (guesstimate)
Firefox - %90+
Both hover near %100 yet in Chrome it's smooth as glass,

iMac 2.66Ghz Intel Core Duo
Mac OS X 10.6.8

Safari 5.1.7 = 20% to 30%
Firefox 12.0 = 92% to 95%

EDIT: I just updated Firefox to v13.01 and it's about the same 92% to 95% range. It runs slightly smoother in Firefox than it does in Safari.

Mac OS X 10.6.8
MacBook 2.26 GHZ Core 2 Duo

Safari: ~16%
Safari Web Content: ~100%
Firefox: ~100%
Firefox Plugin Process (QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6): ~1.2%

The first 3 fluctuate up and down by 1-5%.  The Firefox Plugin is pretty consistent, sometimes dropping to 1.1% for a few seconds.

I don't use Chrome because Google is evil.

Oops. I was looking at the application, not the plugin.

Firefox = 1%
Safari = 100%

What a difference!

-_-

Chamez, Google Chrome uses 4 separate processes for the same page. To get the CPU, combine all the processes together. Don't just post the smallest process...

Yeah, I just ran Google Chrome on Windows 7. One of the Google Chrome processes were running 0-7%.
Then again, there were 3 more processes. I combined them for a total of:
~40% CPU

-----------------------------------------------------------

Hey Al, that Firefox CPU mark doesn't seem right. Firefox might be using another process to run the chat box game. So try looking for other processes taking 40%+ CPU.

Chrome:
0%, 0%, 0%, 0%, 0%, 0%.
Sometimes one will flick over to 1 for a moment.

That is quite strange.

For Chrome not to use over 40% total with the chat box game is quite strange.

X, what is your computer specs? Could you possibly do a screen recording of you running the chat box game and viewing your processes?
Could you do the same Chamez?

i7 3960x, 16gb quad channel ram, 2x7970 in XFire. Recently upgraded (like, yesterday). If you really want I can do a screenshot, but I'm not surprised by these stats, my processor is pretty much an overkill for anything.

I'm watching a youtube video in the background, I think thats what the 1%ers are. Youtube usually uses 1%.

EDIT:
Just tested it under linux (Mint Linux), pretty similar results. Sometimes they appear to flick over to 2%, but I think Linux counts hyperthreading as a separate thread, so the numbers are not just per core.

That is very impressive.

The game doesn't redraw the screen if there's nothing to redraw.
I wonder how it'd perform with 10+ sheep in view...

I'll be doing more tweaks, specifically WebGL, proximity grid and compressed packets. This information is incredibly useful.

By the way, I use Ubuntu, what're the differences/benefits of Mint?

Here's what I have while the chat box game is running.

None, Mint is a fork of Ubuntu. I just like that it defaults to Gnome.
