Hopefully most of you have noticed the upgrade in the chat box I've been working on over the past few days.

Today I've just put the actual online game test in the visual field of the chat box.
To open the visual field, just press Customize Chatbox->Show Game.

Currently the online test game only allows people to get online and move around each other.

Before I can work on this game more, I need input in what kind of game you guys want. I've made a poll with choices. Please give input!

SO when I remembered the Myst online game I remembered how fun it was to enter an area with people and just see how far in you can explore.

So we could make a puzzle game, with Box2D or whatever style of game, where you can travel to different areas like an MMORPG. And some areas require you to go in with friends to find everything, and other areas you can get through solo but friends can always join you.

So perhaps like a puzzle game but with a central area where you choose where to go so that it is more structured. I love the idea of us submitting levels somehow, of course once again we may have to make an editor.

A simpler plan that could still be fun is a faster paced game with the option of having PVP fights.

Having a chat game is a great idea. I like all of the suggestions, but I like the physics game best. It seems like it'd be very casual and intuitive. The less rules the better. I also think it'd be cool to just have a blank canvas that everybody can draw on.

What if we just start out by creating a central area we can hang out it, just a top down view, like Gan's little demo. (http://gamemakersgarage.com/html5/HTML5-ShareGame.php?gameID=276) And the exits link to anything we want to add, such as a number of different games. We add new exits as new games and rooms are created!

I like the everybody draws sortof an idea... We could have a pictionary game or something

It should be minimized by default, rather than saving the preference, so that you must click a button on the chat to load the game and hang out. That way it won't open every time and usurp the top of the forum or slow down the loading if you don't want it to. And perhaps for new users clicking the button on the chat brings up a short description of what the chat box game is.

By default the game is closed unless you click the option to keep it open.

I like the idea of the lobby as well. As for description. I can probably make it appear for new users.

So I think it'd be a good idea if I started on the lobby. I suppose the next question is, what graphics should I use for the lobby?
I suppose I could use the graphics from my demo game "The Tutorial". If you guys want to draw graphics go ahead! I'd love to add anything custom in.
(like the center tree or a fancy statue)

Edit:
Connors, I believe most of the loading time is due to the flash sound manager. It's not working so I'll chop it out. Should make the loading much speedier.
In fact, after I finish backing up the GMG, I'll take out the sound manager right now.
