Farmageddon II
« on: May 01, 2012, 07:16:51 PM »
I'm breaking the awkward silence guys. WITH SOME NEW STUFF!
Now, you might be asking me, "What teh carp is Farmageddon?" and if that's you, you are an idiot, because it's only the greatest game known to man. It gets awards.
Farmageddon II is scheduled to come out as soon as I get around to it. Which is pretty soon! It might even run on PCs and NEW MACS!

(note: Will not work on lion. Also note, I forgot to compile it. You'll need GM because I'm lazy. If you really care, it's only 20.00, and an extra 20.00 might make Al want to make GM 4.)

I know what you're thinking "Oh, zoo's making a game.  That won't end well." and you're probably right, but Gan's so excited to get people using his HTML5 GM that he's gonna help me. I can't make it until he puts in a movie function, though.

awesome, this will be a great game to try break-in HTML5GM... we need a better name for that, perhaps GM8? or is GM7 the next update?

I sucked on the first game and then scored 118 on the 2nd try. I miss these games. I really need to get a new GameMaker out that runs in Lion.

Hey Zoo, we can start on this without the movie function. We can add that later.
Whenever you feel like it.

Gan has asked me to write a detailed summery of Farmageddon II. This will go over gameplay, music, and of course, easter eggs.

In the original, you have 10 health. There are only 2 types of enemies at the start. One, realistically titled "Slime" appears on the side of your tower, expanding until he explodes, covering your screen with alien guts. A "red runner", the second enemy, runs from the side of the screen, into your base, covering your screen with alien guts. A slime is worth 2 points, but takes away more health (2) when he explodes. A red runner is worth 1 point and only does 1 damage. After you score 40 points, green guys start running in. They run from the opposite side of red runners and go considerably faster. Worth only one point, they deal 1 damage. I'm thinking of adding at least 2 more enemies, so let's go over them: Health turtle: very rarely comes. Gives you 3 health points if you shoot him. Insta-kill if you don't. Goes very slow. worth 0 points. Another rare enemy would be a UFO, shoot it for 10 points, no negative effects if you don't. Very small and fast. Possibly a special weapon that falls from the sky that you can pick up and will clear the screen. Maybe a boss who deals lots of damage and has lots of health. A regular guy with 2 health would be neat too. I have no idea how I'm gonna program this.

I might just use apple loops for music like I did in the last one. My original compositions aren't very good and they take a lot of effort. But if you guys want it I'll write some music.

Lots of eastereggs. So many, in fact, that I spend more time on them than on the actual game.

I basically want this to be like the first one, but better in every sense. I hope I can count on you for help.

Some little animals.
I can resize them to work with the game...
Is the sheep to small compared to the cow? I might edit the sheep.
Nah...
