The Gnome patch was originally an easter egg awarded to anyone who registered an account on the Roguesoft Forums within the first three days of the game's release, but it was later included in a substantial update. In addition to the Gnome patch the original release also included "A Note to Developers"; an encouraging memorandum to all aspiring game designers. It has never been packaged with a subsequent release.
