The new MBs and MBPs and MVPs have been released!

Yes they do contain this fancy new yet old port called the Thunderbolt. It's a revamped Mini Display port that has been outfitted with (ehm) lightning fast speeds.

In fact with 10 gb/s bi-directional data flow I'm fairly sure you could backup your whole hard drive in a matter of seconds. Maybe a min or 2 for your ginormous music library.

What do you guys think of this? Hate the name? Disappointed at the lack of peripherals? Overjoyed that Apple has jumped at new tech for their products?

Warning: Chance of shock and stunning fast speeds.

I'm just glad I bought a Mac Pro and not some crummy iMac. All I'll have to do in the future is pop in a PCI Express card and I'll have Thunderbolt.

I could even get it on my 4 year old 15" MacBook Pro if they release an ExpressCard for it. Can't say that about the later model 15" where they took away ExpressCard.

I heard about this, it sounds cool.  The speeds they've achieved make me want to hit my USB external hard drive with a hammer.
