The keyboard and GM
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:13:02 AM »
Does anyone remember using the KeyDetect plugin (the only thing I ever contributed to GM  :) ) ?
It was released in June 2005 and was quite probably the first ever keyboard interface for GameMaker.

On August 6, 2006, GameMaker v3.9.2 was released and featured the new "ON KEYDOWN" structure, rendering KeyDetect obsolete and providing a more serious interface to the keyboard.

(Note that SilverCreator had keyboard support long before any of this)

Ah yeah, many years ago when I had no programming experience I used it. Was quite handy. :)

Happy to hear it found an eventual use.
Are GM plugins still much used ? I think there used to be more.
A bunch of old GM plugins that seem to have disappeared (from one of the GM CDs) :
- Alternate Window Output
- GMedia Plugin
- GMunplugger b1

What is the Alternate Output Window?
The Alternate Output Window can be a plug-in for your application.  It allows you to have a special window that you can draw shapes to.

I don't think it runs in Mac OS X

Many of the old plug-ins only ran in OS 9, so they are no longer useful.
