You start out in feudal times. The mayor asks you to go to the Machine and examine it. You can explore a huge world before examining it. Once you make it to the machine you have to kill a mini-boss the Time Guard and enter the machine. It can only take you forward in time...

That night all people of New York stood still as the hot thick air. Then there was nothing but screams and people running as rapidly and frantily as the giant wave that swept towards them. It was the day man would finally be punished for their unfair treatment to their Earth and it's other inhabitants. All the man made structures were destroyed leaving nothing but ruins, water, and a few doomed survivors. The seas rose covering all the coasts. Now the survivors can only hope that the rest of America has not forgotten them, but is on their way. You travel here and your journey to the Machine 009 will be more difficult and longer than ever.

The Earth's map has completely changed since the floods. Most citizens have been thrown in the dark ages while two groups of Countries fight for control of Earth. You don't know the politics of it. You transported to this period must chose a side and get to Machine 009. You are in the middle of a war torn small "democratic" country of New Island.

It's been one hundred fifty years since the war against the Folps. Earth was forced to unite and fight the common enemy. The war continued until another race the Gorels made contact with Earth. Their home had been destroyed by the Folps so they happily helped defeat the Folps. They then moved in with the Humans but even after all this time soom humans remain racist against the race. You travel to this time and find yourself in a human village. To the south is a desegregated colony and to the east is a Human Life Fair where humans celebrate all things human by killing off Gorels. You must choose and opinion and try not to get to tied into the side quests of 2599 because finding Machine 009 will require a lot of searching!
