MakeHuman
« on: March 17, 2014, 09:50:09 AM »
Some guys just released an open source tool for easily making humanoid creatures.

http://www.makehuman.org/blog/makehuman_100_released.html

It can make them anywhere from super detailed to low poly. It already has them rigged, you can apply clothing to them and can easily alter their Gender and ratios with sliders.

Now I can use an actual human to design my dress on instead of a... not quite sure what that thing is.

I bet this will also be super useful for animating humans in videos.

Edit: Cause this is a humanoid creature creator it may contain nudity. Contain your giggles people.
Edit 2: Bahahahah

I made a business lady.

This software is excellent and slightly disturbing. Very detailed. I can even specify breast size and genitals. Which is weird. That's why she's wearing a suit.

Don't be that guy.

Edit: This should greatly help me design my dress. As long as I don't get too distracted by boobs.

Yeaaaah it looks like it might take some extra work in a second program to get the MakeHuman people out of the uncanny valley. *shudder*

Still, it might come in useful, who knows?

Yeah, you gotta make your person in the MakeHuman program. Then you export it into a MXH format. Then you load it into Blender using the MakeHuman plugin.

Then you can animate it. It's a fairly painless process. I might try making crowds or a kung-fu fighting scene.

That's neat, but these guys look like... a bit off. Uncanny valley indeed. XD

If you're talking about the color, they can be made more realistic if you change the rendering style.
