Offical GMG minecraft server?

I have a bit of cash since it was just my birthday, and I was wondering how many people would use an MC server dedicated to the GMG?

There would probably be a lot of times when it was sitting totally empty, so I've gotta say it's not worth it.  But the thought counts.   :P

I don't play much Minecraft at the moment since I'm doing too much other stuff, and I don't really want to spend my free time living in fear of Creepers.   8)

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but...

You remember the Online Legendary Sword example game? I had it's server hosting on the G4 for about a month.

It's very easy to just forget about a server after it's running.

Though hey, if someone wants to PM me the files and instructions I can give it a shot.

I tested the server on my iMac, booted up in a minute.

Now I'm testing it on my iBook G4 with Linux OS.
That computer has 600mb of ram, pretty much a nonexistent GPU and a CPU that my phone can outrace by 10*, I'm surprised it even opened.

The server's still loading the levels, I'm afraid it might take all night just for the server to turn on. I also hope I forwarded the right port...

Server's still loading, at 65% spawn loading.

I'm thinking it might take a few more days till it's up.

P.S. When I get home I'm gonna try it on my G3. I'm thinking it might be so slow because the G4 is running Linux. G3 is running Mac OS X so that might boost the speed.

I've never tried hosting a server - I'd have to check my connection speed but I bet the computer's fast enough. If not I'll log on from the other computer.
But I doubt it would be on all day.
