Vector graphics are pretty awesome. Extremely low file size and loss-less quality no matter how much you scale.
Inkscape is a free and amazing tool to create vector graphics. I'm using it to remake all my balloon pop graphics.

That may look like just any orginary guy with a gun but this guy with a gun can be scaled to any size and still look good.
Yus! I have used Flash because they have it at school. I even made an action script thing where i could make a guy move and jump....
And more recently an animation of a guy trying to cross a hole in the ground. 
And don't forget Pencil!

Vector art is so easy, so much easier than pixeling. I bet you could make excellent quality graphics for your games.
