Mysterious email

About a week ago I received this email on my website account's original email address, which I have given out to no one lately and check only once a week.

This is it:

Subject: Domain Name CHIREI.NET

Dear sir,


we are interested to purchase your domain name CHIREI.NET and offer between 50% and 65% of the appraised value.
We accept appraisals from companies such as

http://max-apprais.com/


Should you already have a valuation please send it to us.

Please let us know whether you are interested. Upon review of your valuation and in case of an agreement we send payments via PayPal for amounts less than $2,000 and via Escrow.com for amounts above $2,000, as well as further instructions on how to complete the transfer of the domain name.

I've already replied asking for an explanation, and said that I would decline if they don't within 48 hours, not that I will even take this into consideration.

Has anyone else ever received such an email? Is this a genie in a bottle waiting to grant me one wish?
Have I done the right thing?

I'm very concerned this may be some sort of scam for these people to steal the website, or even worse, my PayPal account ._.

Grammar aside, I can't find out how genuine this is as neither the email nor address return any valid results on Google.

If it is genuine and I did accept the offer, I wouldn't make any money beyond what I paid to keep the website active. Well, unless it's some kind of gem worth thousands o.O

and insted of asking them in email the guy left the email blank and wanted me to install a .txt document.
