it looks kinda like an old beat-um up style game... I am not certain how much I would enjoy it.

There certainly is in SCIV. The 20 unique and balanced fighting styles of the game allow an immense amount of versatility in terms of strategy. Online matches are incredibly challenging with so many skilled players worldwide, and strategy guides are already appearing across the internet aiming to advance players up to online standards.

I favor Cassandra. She has one of the most aggressive move sets in the game, but her short range often presents problems when matched against long ranged opponents such as Kilik or Seong Mi-na. Cervantes and Mitsurugi are undoubtedly the most favored worldwide. Taki's fairly popular as well.

Forget the guy in seventh place, I just won 2/5 rounds with the guy in 2nd! :D And since the account who's rank 1 is run by a section of the SCIV Team, technically the guy I played is the number 1 player.

Hyyyooorrrraaang! Seriously guys, this is the greatest game ever made!

Well, after a week of toiling and desperately trying to find a strategy against those characters with stupidly long range, I've crawled my way up to lvl 70 and rank 840. Now I can finally take a break and get back to Tides of Fáden! ;D

Well, I've done bits and bobs of work, but nothing much. I did manage to drastically reduce the LoC count in both the player and NPC routines though, so that's good.

Hey, here's a video of 2 incredibly high level players facing off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEc4V8b7qc0

The video quality isn't that great, but the actual match is awesome!
