Starbound Mods
« on: March 13, 2014, 01:24:30 AM »
The Starbound community has been busy lately. Users of the game are hard at work on all kinds of fanart and even custom content for the game, and it isn't even out of Alpha yet. All this is thanks to the fact that Chucklefish had the sense to plan out all the features they wanted in advance, and they have had mod support from the very beginning. There are even features in place to make mods less likely to become obsolete.

Fro example, this is probably the best-looking Race Mod I've seen to date. It's got custom character styles and animations and items and everything:

I drew this fanart because they're fun to draw:

And of course there are already mods being officially added to the vanilla game, such as Skyrails 2.0. And, I repeat, the game isn't even out of alpha. I'm excited to see what it will look like by the time they actually release it.

Looks good.  The proportions are perfect, and the color palette is really nice too, especially in regard to the particular shade of blue used on the skin and feathers.  It looks like it would glow in the dark.
