I've never been in a game making contest before. And Ive only hear of one of them (Lundum dare) and was wondering what contests you guys have been part of or know about. Especial the 'make a game in two days' contests.

Yes I know I have bad spelling, it's what makes me such a good programmer!

Other than the GMG cup, nothing.  I don't think I'm up to the level of the game-makers that participate in the large contests with real prizes (although that shouldn't stop me :D )

I'd like to participate in http://globalgamejam.org/ this weekend.
It should be interesting, I'll probably work with a friend of mine who knows more about Java. He's a good programmer and I offered to make artwork and help with design and, well, making it fun. But 48 hours... I've never done anything like it. No idea how it's gonna work out. Also need to make sure I can get to the local meeting place at the start of the thing.

And hey, maybe if I like this I'll enter a Ludum Dare contest on my own, just starting with the more "relaxed" variation. (72 hours, more lax on using pre-made resources)
