Invalid or deleted file
« on: January 11, 2011, 08:49:14 PM »
Has anyone else noticed that like 80% of the download links on this site don't work. :'( mediafire says that the files are invalid or deleted.

The old GMG had the same problem.  By the time I got there, none of the downloads worked.  It's frustrating.  You should post a list of the ones you're having problems with and chances are somebody here has it and would be willing to upload it.  The more people that play these games, the better!  :)

Most of the files do this. I think everyone who uses media fire should check their files.

I've just checked the Downloads section under the Games category and the only link that doesn't work for me is Stranded Forest. If you make a list of the links you're having trouble with I'll do my best to fix them. :)

There are other sites that will host files. My google account was free and I keep all my finished games there.

I own an image hosting website that also allows .zip files, if you want to use it.

I think it sound like everyone should stop using Mediafire, there's waaaaay safer places to keep stuff.

MediaFire is a fantastic service. You can upload as many files as you like, there's no download delay and they never delete your files provided you log into your account at least once every 60 days. I've used MediaFire for years and personally recommend them to everybody.

I'm going to be starting a file hosting service soon. You'll be allowed to host GM or SC files, anything related to that, etc.

The upload form will require a special account which I will only give to the members here and on the Plaza. This will prevent abuse (unrelated) downloads.

Files will never be deleted unless the server crashes, and of course no stupid 30 second delay, etc.
