Title: colliding sprites
Post by: Zoo on March 23, 2011, 05:15:07 PM
is there a simple 1 or 2 line solution for sprite collision detection. I'm new to using sprites (as you can tell) and it seems like a vital thing like this would need to be simple, as it is in almost every game. Oh, and if you are using spritepath, does clicking the sprite still work?

Colliding sprites refer to situations in which two or more game sprites (objects or characters) come into contact with each other within a game environment. This collision can trigger various actions, such as causing damage to a character, changing the direction of movement, or triggering a special animation. Collision detection is an essential aspect of game development, and there are several methods developers can use to detect when two sprites collide. One common method is called the "bounding box" approach, where a rectangular boundary is drawn around each sprite, and collisions are detected when the boundaries of two sprites overlap. Another approach is called "pixel-perfect" collision detection, where the exact pixels of each sprite are compared to determine if they overlap. This method is more precise but can be more computationally expensive and may not be necessary for all types of games. Superheroes Movies Jackets (https://www.nyjacket.com/)
