I think I may have asked this before, but I've been listening to a lot more music lately, and so I'm wondering: what's your favorite music?
I've been listening to a LOT of Caravan Palace, Anamanaguchi, Daft Punk, and Jonathan Coulton. Also video game OSTs, like Cave Story, Portal 2, Katamari Damacy, FTL, etc.

Oh man, where do I even begin? OH! I know...
...Dustforce OST by Lifeformed is a cool game soundtrack.
EXAMPLES OF ARTISTS I LIKE:

I listen to lots of stuff. Some of these bands have albums that I own, some of them just have a single or two that I really like.
Ace of Base, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Arlo Guthrie, Audio Adrenaline, The Backstreet Boys (don't judge me! LOL), The Beach Boys, The Beastie Boys, Biz Markie, The Bobby Fuller Four, Boston, The Cars, Casting Crowns, The Cranberries, Enfield, Five Iron Frenzy, Hotline Miami soundtrack (really intense electronic music... small doses only), James Taylor, Jars of Clay, Jet Grind Radio soundtrack, Johnny Cash, Johnny Nash, Kansas, Metallica, Michael Jackson, MxPx, Newsboys, No Doubt, P.O.D., RainyMood.com, The Ramones, Richard Marx, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Santana, Scott Joplin (a ragtime piano composer, not a performer), Shiny Toy Guns, Stubbs the Zombie soundtrack (lots of bands covering 50's and 60's songs), Sungha Jung (guitar prodigy on YouTube), Taco, Toto, They Might Be Giants, vkgoeswild (pianist on YouTube), Weird Al Yankovic, The White Stripes, ZZ Top... and various Disney songs.

Hey I recognize a lot of those, Circuit! That's cool, I'll look up some of them if I want some music to listen to.
I'm gonna leave another link here because Nuclear Throne has great music. And sound. And pretty much everything. :L https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P83gWhaVH8U

Costello Music by the Fratellis is my jam.
-
This is slightly off-topic but I just watched Lilo and Stitch for the first time in a few years and I was reminded how amazing it is. It might be my favorite Disney movie.
-
My favorite Disney movie is probably the Lion King, but I haven't seen Lilo and Stitch in years. Maybe I should acquire a copy. I've been trying to fill in my movie collection for less than a dollar per film by getting VHS copies of my favorite movies (as we all know, there hasn't been a good film since the end of mainstream VCR usage).

Islands Disappear by Said The Whale

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel

Self - Out With a Bang

Basically all NMH at this point. The Luftrausers soundtrack is really good, and Talon of the Hawk by the Front Bottoms is good (although, not really my style). Also Cage the Elephant is good.

Just discovered some awesome weird electronic stuff on Youtube. PUT ON HEADPHONES AND LISTEN IN STEREO. DO IT.

I think I experience a mild synesthesia sometimes when listening to music. That's probably why this stuff, when listened via headphones, is so interesting to me. I also just love the way it's broken up by brief stops and syncopations. Silence is a powerful thing in music. There seem to be tiny bits of it mixed in and that just makes the non-silence sound cooler. It gets your attention. Interesting stuff.
I could be totally wrong about synesthesia and it's just normal for people to imagine things when listening to certain music. Who knows? We all experience our senses in a little bit different ways.

Almost forgot to mention Flume. This stuff is cool.

" You don't know if it's bread or toast.
You can see it but it's bathed in ambiguous red light.
At what point does bread become toast?
Should you hit the lever? It's been a while.
No. In the end, you just have to trust the machine. "

I like Anamanaguchi, yeah, but only Dawn Metropolis. The other stuff's not as great, but I don't know it very well.
